Deeper Purpose of Prayer

Prayer is not about cause and effect. God will accomplish His will whether we pray or not. Prayer is about aligning ourselves with The Will of God.

What a deeper meaning to prayer! We often get caught up in thinking that if we don't pray then God won't move.

No.

God is soverign and He will do according to His will. This doesn't mean we shouldn't pray... we simply need to acknowledge His will and pray that it be done.

Jesus's model prayer even shows us this principle...

"And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil." Luke 11:2-4

Jesus in the garden prayed...

"And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." Matthew 26:39
