WHY?!?!

Many people are asking the question, "Why?" after the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Certainly the date December 14, 2012 and the images of that day will forever be etched into our memories as we watched in horror while the story unfolded.

It is our prayer that many people are finding strength and comfort from God. But, we also know that many people are blaming God for that horrific day.

As a society we have disregarded God's Word as 100% Truth. "Thou shalt not kill" is now justified through the merciless acts of abortion. Our children are taught that we "evolved" from apes, and we wonder why our children act like animals and commit such heinous crimes. It is not God's fault that these terrible things happen in our country. The reason that these things happen is because God and His Word are missing in our homes, schools, workplaces, etc. It is not a lack of God's goodness that this wicked and evil event took place. It is because of a man filled with wickedness and evil that he would take the lives of so many when it is not in his authority to do so. God has not ceased to be good because we are bad. In fact, had this man lived, fully repented and turned his life to Christ... he would have been forgiven by God!

"Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?" Ezekiel 33:11

God did not take pleasure in the death of Adam Lanza. But rather, He wept.

He wept as this ruthless man murdered 20 children, 6 adult, and himself.

God DID NOT take pleasure in the events at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

God has not forsaken Newtown, Connecticut. He is there. He is waiting to embrace the families of those who were lost on this horrendous, tragic day.
